2019 fand die Gamescom zuletzt statt. Danach kam die Corona Pandemie, doch jetzt geht es wieder los und in zwei Wochen öffnet die Gamescom 2022 wieder ihre Türen. Corona hat vieles verändert und so auch die Gamescom. Große Publisher sind dieses Jahr nicht dabei und so verändert sich auch die Messelandschaft.
Die Gamescom 2022 findet vom 24. August bis zum 28. August 2022 in der koelnmesse in Köln statt. Dabei ist der Mittwoch wieder der Medientag, wobei es Wildcards mit einem Einlass ab 13 Uhr gibt.
Einen Tag vorher findet erneut die Opening Night Live mit Geoff Keighley statt.
Die Liste ist dieses Jahr tatsächlich länger, als uns eigentlich lieb ist. Große Publisher wie Sony, Nintendo, Activision, 2K, Square Enix oder EA sind nicht dabei! Damit fallen auch Games wie God of War Ragnarok, FIFA 23, The Last of Us Part 1 oder auch Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 weg. Wie wir finden sehr schade, aber mit der Zeit verändert sich nun mal einiges und diese Publisher sehen wohl keinen Sinn mehr an so großen Messen teilzunehmen.
Neben den nicht anwesenden Publisher, ändern sich aufgrund der Pandemie noch andere Dinge.
So gibt es ein Sicherheitskonzept, welches für einen sicheren Messeaufenthalt sorgen soll. Zum einen gibt es die Tickets für die Gamescom 2022 ausschließlich online (Link setzen) und auch nur in einem begrenzten Kontigent. Zusätzlich wurden wohl die Gänge „extrabreit“ gestaltet, sodass man als Besucher mehr Platz hat. Darüber hinaus soll es ein neues Einlass- und Warteschlangen-Management geben. Damit sollen Warteschlangen an Eingängen und an den Spielständen selber minimiert werden. Natürlich wird es auch ausreichend Hygiene-Stationen geben.
